Why is the 8:1:1 ratio better than mass-market products with the classic 2:1:1 ratio? Due to amino acid metabolism and absorption in the body. In this case, an excess of isoleucine can strongly inhibit leucine activity. As you know, leucine is the most effective amino acid of the three BCAAs, so products containing 10, 15, or even 20 grams of 2:1:1 BCAAs may actually be less effective than those with the ideal ratio and less isoleucine, as in BCAA 8:1:1.
